Intro to Kim Bash Community Spotlights

Contributor: Kim Bash, Israel's Property and Community Matchmaker

A house is just a house, but when you find your community you find your home.
I launched the Find Me a Community in Israel YouTube series during Corona, when many couldn’t travel to Israel. By showcasing over 45 communities across the country, the series helped many families and individuals find their home in Israel.

My 4-part Summary for Finding Your Home:

Whether you’re just beginning your journey or already living in Israel, this guide can help you answer the big question: Where do I belong?

1. Know What Matters to You
Think about your lifestyle, values, and practical needs: religious or secular, family-friendly, work proximity, transport, or support networks, etc.

2. Consider the Top Anglo Hubs
Jerusalem – Rich in history, diversity, and spirituality.
Tel Aviv – Vibrant economic hub with beach front living.
Netanya – Coastal, relaxed, and diverse.
Raanana – Family-friendly and welcoming.
Beit Shemesh – Large Anglo community with strong Torah life.
Modi'in – Central, and ideal for young families.
Efrat & Gush Etzion – Religious Zionist and close-knit.
Zichron Yaakov – Artsy, scenic, and laid-back.

3. Explore Budget Friendly Communities
Carmei Gat – New, ideal for young Anglo families.
Be’er Sheva – University town with abundant housing supply
Pardes Hanna – Bohemian, diverse, and family-focused.
Ashkelon – Coastal, ideal for retirees and families.
Other options include Harish, Afula, Kiryat Shmona, Nahariya and Tiberias.

4. Visit In Person
There’s no substitute for walking the streets, feeling the energy and speaking to the locals.
